LELAND – Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO’s plans for a water treatment plant are in limbo after Leland officials denied a request to rezone their intended plant site.

H2GO is one of the wholesale customers of Brunswick utilities’ finished water, which it sells to 8,500 customers in the Leland/Belville/Navassa area.

But H2GO sees costs inevitably rising and have begun planning for the future as well by planning to build a reverse osmosis plant that would tap groundwater from Black Creek and the Lower PeeDee watershed areas to treat and sell.
