Leland officials weren’t interested in a new H2GO water plant, but agreed to make an offer to buy its existing water tower.

The town board voted 3-2 on Aug. 21 to deny a rezoning request which was needed for Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO to move forward with plans to build a water treatment plant.

Later in the same meeting the board members reviewed a presentation to consider buying the company’s water tower near Brunswick Forest as an alternative to building on of their own to meet future needs.
