A Leland man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl faces more than 50 additional charges.
Denzel Jamal Hill, 22, of Dogwood Road, was arrested Saturday, July 19, and charged with indecent liberties with a child, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and two counts of statutory rape, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office. Warrants show the crimes took place July 16.
After further investigation, Hill has been charged with additional crimes against the same girl and a second victim, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Emily Flax said.
Hill faces 34 counts of statutory rape and sex offense, 17 counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, four counts of assault by strangulation, 10 counts of assault inflicting serious bodily injury, thee counts of second-degree kidnapping, three counts of first-degree sexual offense and a count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Hill is accused of injuring one of his victims in November with a cigarette lighter, according to the warrants.
Hill, whose bail was originally set at $1 million, is incarcerated at the Brunswick County Detention Facility on $7,010,000 bail after a hearing Thursday afternoon, July 24.
