Leland Police crime report

Police responded to 113 Old Fayetteville Road at 7:31p.m. May 5in reference to a

report of a shooting.

According to Lt. Joseph Pierce, the suspect is a juvenile and is in custody.

The victim is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

“Due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation, no other information can be released at this time, Pierce said in a statement.


The Leland Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.


April 28

Assault on a female, domestic criminal trespassing and breaking-and-entering on Holly Hills Drive.

April 29

Amanda Louise Miller, 27, 131 County Road, Etowah, Tenn., charged with misdemeanor larceny.

April 30

Breaking-and-entering—forced entry caused $250 damage to property on Appleton Way.

May 1

Maggie Jessica Garbade, 17, 112 Rice Hope Run, Belville, charged with misdemeanor larceny.

Larceny of electronics and jewelry worth $100 on Townsend Lane.

Injury to personal property, $1,500 damage to a truck parked on Ricefield Branch.

May 2

Breaking-and-entering a building on Royal Street.
