Leland Police report

The Leland Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.

Feb. 14

Simple assault; suspect hit victim at Beauty Max on New Pointe Boulevard.

Feb. 15

Rogelio Gomez Lopez, 27, 136 NE 33rd St., Oak Island; hit and run, property damage and driving without an operator’s license.

Driving while impaired; suspect drove a stolen truck while impaired on Olde Waterford Way.

Feb. 17

Michael Shane Carney, 35, 141 Hinton Ave., Wilmington; shoplifting.

Feb. 18

Celeste Jennifer Heery, 43, 2201 Wedgewood Drive, Longs, S.C.; driving while impaired.

Breaking and entering from a motor vehicle and larceny from a motor vehicle; suspect entered a vehicle parked on Center Court and took $17 and 40 Atarax.

Injury to personal property; suspect punctured victims tire with an unknown object causing $175 damage to a vehicle parked on Lanterns Lane.

Feb. 20

Fredrick Dawley, 24, homeless, served with a warrant for a probation violation.

Cameron Jaymes Pless, 25, 3694 Law Road SE Bolivia; simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Obtaining property by false pretense; subject pawned a stolen rifle valued at $700 on Village Road.

Injury to real property; suspect struck mailboxes on Coralstone Court, causing $300 damage.

Feb. 22

Lawrence Raheam Brown, 19, 9453 Grady Way; simple possession of marijuana.

Larceny of a firearm; suspect removed a $250 handgun from a home on Wayne Street without the owner’s consent.

Feb. 24

Talisha Briana Lee, 22, 654 Towncreek Road; felony larceny of miscellaneous items from Dollar Tree on New Pointe Boulevard.

April Marie Watson, 20, 1904 Maco Road NE; felony larceny of miscellaneous items from Dollar Tree on New Pointe Boulevard.
