The Leland Police Department investigated the following incidents and made the following arrests in the last two weeks. All information is taken directly from police incident and arrest reports.


Jan. 1

Bemon Wilson Kennedy, 48, 933 Village Road; arrested on an outstanding warrant and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public official.


Jan. 2

Larceny; unknown suspects removed cast iron storm drain grates, valued at $400, from the roadway at Brunswick Forest parkway.

Larceny; unknown suspects took a license plate from a vehicle parked on Serene Court.

Breaking and entering and larceny from a motor vehicle; an unknown suspect entered a vehicle on Village Road and took prescription medication.


Jan. 3

Larceny; unknown suspect drove off from Gogas gas station on Village Road without paying for $44 worth of gas.

Larceny; an unknown suspect took $39.56 worth of miscellaneous items from Walmart on New Pointe Boulevard.


Jan. 4

Injury to real property; an unknown suspect caused $300 damage by kicking a door to a residence on Heathwood Drive.


Jan. 5

Joyce Mae Norris, 51, 13 Silva Terra Drive, Wilmington; arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Warrant served, larceny and aiding and abetting; a warrant was served on a known suspect for larceny of miscellaneous electronic devices.


Jan. 6

Danise Racheal Martin, 43, 1115 Royal St.; arrested on one count of driving while license revoked by Cpl. C.J. Winder.

Driving while license revoked, vehicle parked on highway and towed motor vehicle; a known suspect left a vehicle parked in the lane of travel on U.S. 17 South.

Injury to real property; unknown suspects caused $400 damage to a mailbox and fence on Holly Hills Drive.

Larceny; suspect took telephone equipment from Walmart on New Pointe Boulevard without the owner’s consent.

Larceny; suspect took $200 worth of miscellaneous items from Walmart on New Pointe Boulevard and leaving without permission.


Jan. 7

Larceny of a motor vehicle; suspect took a vehicle, valued at $6,500, from a residence on Green Ridge Way.
