Lightning from a thunderstorm knocked out power last Thursday night in portions of Brunswick County.
The outage on the night of June 27 affected about 15,000 customers in the Holden Beach and Supply areas, said Judy Gore, spokeswoman for Brunswick Electric Membership Corp.
Five substations were out as a result of lightning strikes at the Prospect transmission station, Gore said.
The outage occurred between 9-10 p.m. and lasted for a little over an hour before power was restored, Gore said.
