-A A +A

Opera House Theatre Company is presenting “Little Shop of Horrors” through Sept. 8 on the main stage at Thalian Hall in Wilmington as its final production of the season.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets are $25 with $2 discounts for seniors, military and students. Group discounts for 10 or more are available.

The comedy horror rock musical is about Seymour who, slaving away in Mushnik’s Flower Shop, longs to escape his dreary life on Skid Row. In the meantime, he offers tender love and care to a strange and unusual plant that only thrives when Seymour begins feeding it blood. As Audrey II begins to grow, so does the flower shop’s business. Keeping the R&B singing carnivore happy is the only way out, but is Seymour just a pawn in this paranormal plant’s diabolical scheme?

Describes as a gleefully gruesome musical spoof of early sci-fi movies, “Little Shop” is a twisted comedy that’s smart as a pistil. Fun and witty, full of dark humor and irresistible music, “Little Shop” will make you scream with laughter.

Tickets can be purchased at the center box office in the lobby of Thalian Hall at 310 Chestnut St. They can also be ordered by phone at (910) 632-2285 or online at www.thalianhall.org.
