At 7 a.m. on July 12, a big 26-foot Penske truck filled to capacity pulled out of the parking lot at Bible Baptist Church in Holden Beach bound for Moulton, Ala.
The previous evening, the truck had been loaded with furniture, a washing machine and dryer, numerous televisions, clothing and a myriad of other items collected from Brunswick County residents and stored temporarily in two large units at Omni Storage on N.C. 211. The truck’s departure marked the culmination of a drive to aid victims of the tornado that ravaged Moulton and Tuscaloosa, Ala., in late April.
