Magnolia Greens won the Coastal Carolina Interclub Association (CCIA) Stableford event played on April 25 at St. James’ Founders Golf Course. This was the first CCIA event for 2012.
Magnolia Greens totaled 249 points and was led by the team of Sammy Stanley and Tony Vlach with 45 points and the team of Greg Baker and Jon Jenkins with 44 points.
Ocean Ridge was the overall champion for 2011 and claimed second with 247 points. Ocean Ridge was led by the team of Charles Augone and Bill Bonnington with 44 points and the team of Melvin Scott and Richard Liggera with 43 points.
Sea Trail scored 240 points for third. Sea Trail was led by Lee Sutton and Charlie Hanlon with 43 points and the team of Mike DePauw and Monte Beebe and the team of Mike Connaughton and Brian Blaine with 41 points each.
Host St. James was at 236 points. St. James was led by the team of Eric Langslet and Paul Sazani with 42 points and the team of Richard Chapman and Michael Galchus and the team of Ken Kontos and Jim Kiely with 40 points each.
Carolina National and Crow Creek each scored 229 points to tie for fifth. Carolina National was led by the team of Ed Rich and Pete Desloge with 41 points and the team Rick Klein and Bob Allen with 40 points. Crow Creek was led by the team with Lewis Pate and Jay Bushell with 41 points and the team of David Hannah and Carl Graves with 40 points.
Sandpiper joined the CCIA this year and placed seventh with 209 points. They were led by the team of Bill Snyder and Louie Valenzuela and the team of Lance Lewin and Bobby Bryce, each with 40 points.
