Man arrested for failing to register as a sex offender

On Aug. 5, Leland Police officers arrested Donald Edward Young for failing to register as a sex offender. Young was an inmate in the N.C. Department of Corrections for seven years and was released in 2006, according to a press release.

Police officers determined Young has lived in Leland for a year and a half. He had been convicted of sex-related crimes against children in the state of Massachusetts, which required him to register as a sex offender.
