Man charged with assault

An 82-year-old Sunset Beach man has been charged with assault on a female.

Barris Spivey of 514 Lakeshore Drive, Sunset Beach, was charged by Sunset Beach police on Sept. 23.

Police also charged Joan Michelle, 24, of 3999 Big Neck Road, Ash, with going 85 in a 55 mph zone on Sept. 22 on N.C. 904.
