Man steals tractor, causes accident; charged with DWI

A Holden Beach man allegedly stole a farm tractor from a Shell Point Road home before taking off on it and causing an accident.

Jason Cale Fulford, of 194 Ocean Boulevard, is accused of stealing a man’s 1973 farm tractor from his home around 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.

N.C. State Highway Patrol Trooper Matt Strangman said Fulford was traveling south on Shell Point Road when he collided head-on with an on-coming vehicle. The other driver saw Fulford swerving as he drove and attempted to move out of Fulford’s way, but was unable to do so.
