Several mayors are encouraging Brunswick County commissioners to keep the quarter-cent sales tax proposal alive.
Mayors from 14 of the county’s 19 towns added their names to a letter sent to county officials calling for a second referendum on the sales tax increase to pay for school and beach projects.
The mayors want the referendum added to the November general election ballot with more effort to sway voters to fund the beach and school needs with the tax shared by residents and visitors to Brunswick County.
