MYRTLE BEACH SPEEDWAY, S.C.—Saturday night saw four classes of NASCAR racing take the green flag at Myrtle Beach Speedway. The headline Whelen All-American Late Models ran just beyond halfway when rain fell. The track wasn’t getting damp, as the rain was evaporating on the hot asphalt, but at the conclusion of lap 23 the race had to be stopped.
Officials, upon checking the radar , saw more rain on the way and decided to checker flag the event as the cars were stopped on the pit lane.
