Milliken wins Late Model race

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—In Late Models racing Saturday at Myrtle Beach Speedway, Ryan Hall beat points leader Sam Yarbrough in the first race. Justin Milliken was third, Barry Andrews fourth and Ed Williams fifth.

Milliken, of Shallotte, won for the second straight week when he finished first in the second race. Hall was second, Andrews third, Gregg Hardee fourth and Rick Smith fifth.

Yarbrough leads defending champion Smith by 44 points for the season championship.

David Hatchell won for the first time in Street Stock, finishing ahead of points leader Thomas Poole, Kent Bellamy, Dean Cumbee and Clay Gossett.

Poole, the defending points champion, is 36 points ahead of Cumbee for the season championship.

In Mini-Stock, Terry Evans beat Adam Fulford, Dub Fulford, Mark Evans and Willie Fulford.

Dub Fulford leads Mark Evans by 60 points for the season championship.

In Limited Late Models, points leader Randall Roberts won the first race. John Brown was second, Dal Wright third, Johnathan Lewis fourth and Ed Williams fifth.

In the second race, Wright was first, Tony Powell second, Sam Scarpelli third, Gary Poretto fourth and Kevin Barnhill, the defending points champion, fifth.

Roberts is 10 points ahead of Wright for the season championship.

In the Mitsubishi Super Trucks race, Clay Thomas was the winner. Ronnie Daniels was second, Kevin Parsons third, points leader Jamie Weatherford fourth and Strom Altman fifth.

Weatherford is 74 points ahead of Daniels for the season championship.

Saturday is Bell & Bell Pontiac-GMC-Buick Night at MBS. The racing will feature twin Whelen NASCAR Late Model races in addition to Limited Late Models, Street Stocks and Mini-Stocks. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the first race is at 7:30 p.m.
