One of Brunswick County’s largest industrial employers announced June 19 it will close its local plant.
DAK Americas runs a plant in Navassa that employs about 600 workers—350 full-time employees and 250 contract workers—but said they intend to shut down by September.
“We acknowledge that this business decision is very difficult for our employees and thank them for their dedication and commitment to our industry for more than 40 years,” Jorge Young, DAK Americas’ president, said in announcing the plant closing.
