The N.C. Department of Transportation will have a citizens’ informational workshop for the proposed widening of Village Road (N.C. 1472) in Leland from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Leland Senior Center Community Building, 1490 Village Road NE in Leland.
Citizens are invited to speak individually with NCDOT officials, as well as review project plans. Comments received during the meeting will be considered as plans are finalized.
NCDOT proposes to widen Village Road to a four-lane divided highway with a 23-foot raised median from South Navassa Road (N.C. 1435) to one of the following intersections: 1) Village Road and Lanvale Road (N.C. 1438); 2) Leland School Road (N.C. 1441) and Mount Misery Road (N.C. 1478); or 3) Lincoln Road (N.C. 1455) and Mount Misery Road.
