New poetry group to meet Feb. 13

Poetry Revisited is a newly organized monthly group for those who write, read and listen to poetry. The intention of this group is to afford poets and would-be poets an opportunity to read their work to others, as well as to enable those with a less-than-positive impression of poetry to experience the reading and hearing of poems from a different angle. 

An introductory gathering is planned at Rourk Branch Library in Shallotte from 3-4:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, in the library meeting room.

Each monthly session will offer an “open mic” experience for area writers to read some of their work. Poets are asked to bring two or three poems to share (as time permits) during this initial meeting.
