Newly refurbished Rourk Branch Library opens to the public

SHALLOTTE—The newly renovated Rourk Branch library has opened on Main Street, complete with a new reading room, new children’s room and more space for browsing books.

The library opened last Wednesday after being closed since December.Patrons are enjoying the roomier building, according to library workers.

Before the renovation, patrons had to squeeze past one another to peruse the stacks of books, and the computer stations were nearly always in use with people standing and waiting turns.
