The Ninja Firefly Monkeys team from the James C. School in Brunswick County won first place competing against 28 counties in the middle school division at the March 23 Coastal Envirothon event at Weyhaeuser’s Cool Springs Environmental Center in Craven County.
The Destinasia team of the James C. School finished second in Area 6 in the high school division. Joene Helms was the advisor for both teams.
The five main curricula of study included soils, aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife and current environmental issues.
