North Brunswick student selected for national drum and bugle corps

His summer will be spent traveling more than 9,000 miles through 16 states, playing in 44 performances at 39 venues for 275,000 spectators.

Aaron Benton, an 11th-grader at North Brunswick High School, has been selected to perform with the Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps this summer.

Benton auditioned for the corps earlier this year when auditions were at his school. His mother originally told him he couldn’t audition due to the financial reasons—corps tuition is $2,300. But Mark Riel, Benton’s band director, told him to audition despite the cost.
