Ocean Isle Beach plans sand-sculpture contest

The Ocean Isle Beach sand sculpture contest will take place from 11 a.m.-
1: 30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, on the beach in front of the Community Center at 44 East 1st St. at the Monroe St. beach access on Ocean Isle Beach. Rain date will be Sunday, Sept. 2.
 Family division rules
1. Construction of sculptures must be confined to the contestant’s flagged area.
2. Create anything you would like out of sand, keeping it appropriate for all ages.
