Ocean Ridge Bowling

The Ocean Ridge Bowling league concluded its 12th season March 31 with the awards banquet at Starz Grill in Shallotte. The league, consisting of 28 four-person teams, honored the team and individual winners. League president Steve Miller announced the following award recipients.

Team awards

Overall team: 1. Sheila Jenkins, Ruth Ray, Don Mitchell, Glenn Yurek; 2. Emil Gnam, Lois Welsh, Bill Walker, Gary Prock. 

Team high scratch series: 1. Milt Bailey, Kathy Bassett, Becky Stevens, Terry Bahnick (2,091). Second: Jeanne Maxon, Pat Brooks, Paul Socha, Bob Bradicich (1,945).

Team high handicap series: 1. Sheila Jenkins, Ruth Ray, Don Mitchell, Glenn Yurek (2,750); 2. George Brooks, Diana Gruver, Judy Matalavage, Roger Mitchell (2,622).

Steve Miller, president; Bill Bixler, vice president and Phyl O’Connor, treasurer, were all re-elected for the 2011-2012 bowling season.
