Operation Safe Easter nets 11 DWI charges, 74 total charges

On April 2, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team conducted a checkpoint station on U.S. 74 westbound at the Brunswick River Bridge, just east of the Leland city limits.

The sheriff’s office was assisted in the checkpoint by officers with the Leland Police Department, Navassa Police Department, Holden Beach Police Department, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmington Police Department, Whiteville Police Department, Lake Waccamaw Police Department and the North Carolina Tests for Alcohol BAT Mobile Unit.
