Paint your pet pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

During October, Doggone Healthy at 9260 Beach Drive in Calabash is offering pet baths with a splash of pink.

For a donation, employees will paint a paw, ear or tail pink to show your and your pet’s support during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Donations can be made directly to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Foundation. The suggested minimum donation for the temporary hair dye is $5 after the cost of the bath.

Bath prices for short-haired breeds range from $20 to $45, depending on size. To schedule a bath and dye job, call Doggone Healthy at (910) 579-0555.

The NHRMC Pink Ribbon Foundation provides mammograms for early screenings at no cost to women who cannot afford them. In addition to the screenings, comfort bags are provided to women undergoing cancer treatment.

A portion of donations also goes toward complimentary therapies like music and massage therapy to patients during outpatient and inpatient cancer treatment.

Your gifts to the Pink Ribbon Project help local women in their fight against cancer.
