Sydney Ellen Parks of Shallotte and David Michael Powell of Carolina Shores were married Oct. 25 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on U.S. 17 South, with Robert H. White officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tom and Liesl Parks of Shallotte.

The groom is the son of Jay and Louisa Powell of Wilmington, Del.

The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father.

Adrienne Yoho Fay of Ocean Isle Beach served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Dominique Stanley of Ocean Isle Beach, Alexis Yoho of Ocean Isle Beach and Amanda Powell of Wilmington, Del., the groom’s sister.

Flower girls were Lauren York and Emily York of Calabash.

Jay Powell served as his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Dwight Fay of Ocean Isle Beach, Dan Thompson of Shallotte and Jeff York of Calabash.

The bride wore a strapless, ivory satin gown with organza overlay detailed with beading and a fingertip length ivory veil with lace edging and seed pearls.

She carried a bouquet of yellow roses tied with ivory ribbon.

Her attendants wore tea-length, strapless satin dresses in champagne with full skirts and ivory lace sashes.

Groomsmen wore black tuxedoes with champagne ties.

A reception followed the ceremony at Brunswick Plantation.

The groom is a graduate of Howard High School in Wilmington, Del. The bride is a graduate of West Brunswick High School.

Both are employed at Sandpiper Heating and Air in Calabash.

Following a honeymoon trip to Asheville, the couple will live in Carolina Shores.
