'Phlock' to a Buffett-style beach bash Saturday

Island attitude will prevail at Phlock to the Beach — A Buffett Style Beach Bash from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Cape Fear Regional Jetport on Oak Island. Gates open at 3 p.m.

Highlights include food, beverages, a beer garden, games, contests and music by two bands.

Key Lime Pie, a trop-rock party band from Wilmington, plays from 4 to 7 p.m. with its Southeastern coastal stew of Jimmy Buffett, R&B, soul, beach, blues reggae, country classics and Southern rock and roll.

Latitude, performing 7-10 p.m., consists of dynamic duo Tom and Michelle Becker offering a fresh mix of beach, dance and party favorites.

Tickets for adults ages 18 and older are $10 in advance and $15 at the gate; $5 in advance and $10 for children ages 13-17; $2 in advance and $5 at the gate for ages 6-12 and free for children age 5 and younger.

Phlock to the Beach is an event of the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Landshark Lager, Budweiser Designate a Driver, R.A. Jeffrey’s Distributing of Wilmington, Cape Fear Regional Jetport and Southport Magazine.
