Planning board OKs Food Lion plans

SHALLOTTE—The planning board has recommended approval of plans for a new Food Lion shopping center off N.C. 179 near Willis Drive.

On Tuesday, the board recommended approval of the preliminary plat presented by owner A.B. Willis and the site and landscaping plans presented by Tripp Engineering for the center.

The shopping center is planned to include a large store of 34,928 square feet and 13 additional units, with a total square footage of 51,728.
