Post 68 improves to 10-0

When Ryan Hill led off the game with a home run, it was a sign of things to come as Post 68 routed Hampstead 17-2 in an American Legion baseball game Monday.

The victory at Hampstead—whose high school varsity finished second in the Class A state championship series—kept the Brunswick County team unbeaten (10-0).

Hill finished 4-for-5 with a double and the home run. Two other Post 68 players also homered. Elliot Swain hit a grand slam. Ben Maggard hit a three-run home run.

Pat Kamfolt was 2-for-2. Wally Kamfolt was 1-for-3. Forrest Stead was 1-for-4. Chad Malpass was 2-for-5. Noah Hawkins was 2-for-5.

Josh Hamilton started and pitched two innings. He gave up two runs, one earned, and one hit. He walked five and struck out two. Jacob Morehouse pitched three innings and was the winner. He gave up on hit and one walk. He struck out two. Aaron Evans pitched the final three innings. He gave up one hit and one walk. He struck out five.

Four Brunswick County Post 68 pitchers threw a shutout against Hoke County Post 20 in a 6-0 American Legion baseball victory June 11.

Ethan Cox was the winning pitcher, throwing five innings. Cox gave up three hits and one walk. He struck out five.

Josh Hamilton pitched one inning, walking three and striking out two. Ryan Waldrep got the save and threw two innings. He gave up one hit and struck out three. Aaron Evans pitched one inning. He gave up one hit and struck out one.

Forrest Steed was 1-for-3 with two RBIs, Ryan Hill 2-for-4, Elliot Swain 1-for-2, Marcus Woodburn 1-for-1 and Tim Walsh 1-for-4 with a double.
