The Brunswick County Post 68 American Legion baseball team won three games last week and improved to 4-0.
On Friday, Post 68 beat Wallace 14-4.
Josh Powell was 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs. Pat Kamfolt was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Elliot Swain, Wally Kamfolt and Ryan Morgan were 1-for-3. Forrest Stead was 1-for-2. Mikhail Wheeler was 1-for-4.
Ethan Cox was the winning pitcher. He pitched four innings and gave up two runs, one earned. He gave up five hits and four walks. He struck out seven.
Post 68 swept Whiteville 8-5 and 6-5 on Saturday.
In the first game, Ryan Hill was 2-for-4. Powell and Wally Kamfolt were 2-for-3. Morgan was 1-for-1. Wheeler was 1-for-3.
Powell was the winning pitcher. He threw five and one-third innings. He gave up five runs, four earned. He gave up seven hits. He struck out three.
Aaron Evans got the save. He threw one and two-thirds innings. He gave up one hit and no runs. He struck out four and walked two.
Post 68 scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to beat Whiteville 6-5 in the second game.
In the sixth, Daniel Lantz walked, Wheeler singled and Pat Kamfolt walked, loading the bases. Swain singled in the tying run and the go-ahead run scored on a passed ball.
Hill and Wheeler were 1-for-2. Pat Kamfolt and Powell were 1-for-3. Swain was 2-for-4. Ben Maggard was 1-for-3.
Jacob Morehouse pitched five and one-third innings. He gave up three runs, two earned, and six hits. He walked two and struck out four. Evans was the winning pitcher. He pitched one and two-thirds innings. He gave up two runs, both unearned. He walked one and struck out one.
Post 68 plays at 6 p.m. June 4 at Wilmington. Post 68 has a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Friday at home with Myrtle Beach and a game set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Whiteville.
