Two outspoken animal advocates have taken issue with state Sen. Bill Rabon for a recent statement attributed to him regarding legislation approved in the House but not yet brought to the Senate.
But Rabon says he is optimistic and poised to review legislation to regulate puppy mills in due time.
Rabon, a Brunswick County veterinarian, was quoted Nov. 18 in The (Greensboro) News & Record about efforts in the North Carolina General Assembly to restrict commercial dog breeders.
