To the editor:
Whatever your affiliation, we all know that in the world of politics, experience equals clout. Our family can attest.
My sister was a postal worker and was critically injured on the job, including a broken neck. Months later, she returned to work with the promise of “light duty,” but after several years was forced to retire and apply for disability.
Despite having legal representation, her applications were ignored 20 times during six years because of federal employment bureaucracy. Her New Jersey congressman could not help her so, nearly bankrupt, she was forced to sell her home and move to Florida. She appealed to her congressman there, also receiving no help.
Finally, she moved to Columbus County and wrote one letter to Mike McIntyre. Within a month, she was approved for disability, and he even expedited the process so she received not only her first check within 90 days, but also the 15 years of retro-compensation owed her.
Please do not vote the Party on Nov. 6. Vote for a gentleman who represents all of his constituents: Congressman Mike McIntyre. His consistent service is why we have continued to send him to Washington. Thank you, congressman. We will remain independent voters for McIntyre.
