Stuff the Bus at Generations

Generations Church, which meets at 4874 Long Beach Road in Southport, is sponsoring a Stuff the Bus event beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7. This event is for elementary school-aged children and their parents and guardians in need of school supplies to begin the school year.

The church is inviting community members in need to “Treehouse Live,” an interactive kid and family service at Surf Cinema, which will continue with a free hotdog lunch at noon and a visit to the Stuff the Bus store to pick up complimentary school supplies provided by the church and other community members.

Stuff the Bus is a program focused on providing basic school supplies to those children in the Southport-Oak Island-Supply area who are “most in need” to assist them with their studies and help build self-esteem. Each August, thousands of children start the school year without the necessary supplies to succeed academically. Generations Church wants to enable these children to receive the best education possible by giving them the necessary resources to succeed.
