Friendship plans homecoming
Friendship Baptist Church, 2546 Ash-Little River Road in Ash, will celebrate homecoming at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 17. Dinner will be served following the service.
Trinity UMC plans fall festival
The annual fall festival at Trinity United Methodist Church, on the corner of Nash and Atlantic streets in Southport, will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6.
A luncheon consisting of homemade soup and cornbread will be available from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
The day will begin with a yard sale sponsored by United Methodist Youth Fellowship on the lawn. A hot breakfast and coffee will be served in Murrow Hall. Inside, the feature of the day will be Cookie Walk, where homemade holiday cookies can be purchased by the pound. The bake sale will feature pies, breads, pound cake, muffins, coffee cake, cupcakes, brownies and candy.
The New-to-You Jewelry Boutique will feature rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and watches.
Music will be provided by P.D. Midgett, a former Trinity pastor. There will also be activities for children and the opportunity to own three handmade quilts.
All proceeds will benefit mission projects for women and children.
Trinity sets Oct. 17 services
On Sunday, Oct. 17, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 E. Nash St. in Southport, the Rev. Jeff Roberts’ sermon will be “People Matter,” based on scripture from Luke 15:1-10.
New worship times will begin with an 8 a.m. casual service and an 11 a.m. traditional worship service in the sanctuary. The 9:30 a.m. contemporary service led by the praise team with music by the worship band, Promise., will be in Murrow Hall. Nursery care is available during all services and children’s church takes place during the 11 a.m. service. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 and 11 a.m.

Zion Hill Baptist plans revival
Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2100 Zion Hill Road in Bolivia, will host its fall revival Oct. 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. This year’s theme is “Send a Revival.”
Wednesday, Oct. 13, is Mission Night and all missionaries are asked to wear white. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Quan Stuart of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivia.
Thursday, Oct. 14, is Youth Night. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Hakim Reaves of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Calabash.
Friday, Oct. 15, is Joy Night: Bring your tambourine. Guest speaker will be the Rev. William L. Smith of Hall’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Burgaw.
Women in the Bible program set
The First Baptist Missionary Church at 619 North Lord St. in Southport will host a special program sponsored by the missionary department on women of the Bible at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, featuring dynamic speakers from the surrounding area.
In addition to regular gospel music, there will be a special appearance by the Cedar Grove Gospel Choir. Missionaries are asked to wear white.
Church plans Family Fun Day
Soldier Bay Church, on the corner of N.C. 130 and Longwood Road in Ash, will host a Family Fun Day from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, featuring balloon animals, face painting and clowns.
Raffle tickets will be sold for a log cabin quilt for $1 each. Call Frankie at 287-5643 or Shelby at 575-2080 for tickets.
There will be a dunkin’ booth. Enjoy barbecue plates, hot dogs, hamburgers, cotton candy, popcorn and drinks. There will be a cake-baking contest. Enter and win a ribbon. All cakes will be auctioned off after they are judged at 1 p.m.
There will be a homemade jewelry booth, a yard sale and an auction of handmade furniture, Christmas items, cakes, new and gently used items, from 3-5 p.m.
Enjoy pie throwing, games for all ages and booths of all kinds. Many gospel groups will be singing all day.
Grace Missionary sets services
Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 340 Mulberry St. in Shallotte, will have morning Sunday school at 10 a.m. and morning services start at 11 a.m.
Wednesday evening worship is at 7 p.m.
Little River UMC plans fall festival
The Little River UMC fall festival will kick off with a classic Italian dinner at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15. A 6:30 p.m. concert featuring Louis Roberts and “Jammin’ for Jesus” will follow.
Dinner tickets are $20/couple, $25/family with children and $15/single parent with a child. The concert is free.
The main event will be from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, with sausage/biscuits, baked goods, clothing and household items, books, jewelry, a garden shop, a live auction, barbecue sandwiches and children’s fun and games.
Little River UMC is at Mineola Ave. and U.S. 17 in Little River, S.C.
Oak Grove plans luncheon
Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1356 Holden Beach Road, will sponsor a seafood luncheon from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.
Tickets are $ 10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger.
All proceeds will benefit the Window Replacement Fund.
