Hoppers are coming to church

As part of their Southern Gospel Music Series at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Bolivia, The Hoppers from Madison will be appearing in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 20.

The Hoppers, one of Gospel music’s most acclaimed and awarded family recording artists, have just completed an all-new studio recording, “Something’s Happening” (Spring Hill Music). The new release, produced and arranged by composer and producer Lari Goss, has been in the works for nearly two years.

The Hoppers will also be performing fan favorites like “Jerusalem,” “Yes I Am,” “Shoutin’ Time,” “Yaweh,” “The Ride” and “Blame it on Love.”

The Rev. Anthony Clemmons extends a welcome to everyone who loves the gospel message in song to join the congregation as they welcome The Hoppers.

Zion Hill plans revival

Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2000 Zion Hill Road in Bolivia, will host ‘Prayer For (Revival) Anointing for a Breakthrough’ at 7:30 p.m. nightly March 9-11.

The theme will be “Catch on Fire.” The Rev. James Smith of Mount Calvary No. 2 in Brooksville, S.C., will be the guest minister.

Musical guest will be the Pleasant Hill MBC choir on Wednesday night; Little Macedonia MBC choir on Thursday night; and Mount Calvary No. 2 MBC choir on Friday night.

Church plans Gospel Fest 2011

Holy Covenant United Holy Church, 237 Snowfield Road SE in Leland (Snowfield Community), will present Gospel Fest 2011, “Praise is What I Do,” at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 26.

The program will feature The Gospel Boys from Hampstead; The Spiritual Tones from Wilmington; The Brothers of Harmony from Wilmington; Genesis from Fayetteville; and N.C. & Brother Roscoe Stanton from Wilmington.

Trinity sets services

On Sunday, March 13, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 E. Nash St. in Southport, assistant pastor Gary Albertson’s sermon will be “Between Two Worlds” based on scripture from Romans 7:12-8:2.

There will be three worship services. The 8 a.m. casual service and the 11 a.m. traditional service will be in the sanctuary. Worship, the Trinity praise team, will lead the contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. in Murrow Hall.

Childcare and children’s church will be available during all worship services. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 and 11 a.m.

New Ebenezer to have speaker

The Rev. Curtis McMillian of New Ebenezer Faith Ministries, 1705 Southport-Supply Road SE in Bolivia, will be having a fellowship service at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Gordon Griffin of Moores Creek Baptist Church in Currie along with his church family.
