Camp UMC plans Easter services
Easter celebrations begin at Camp United Methodist Church of Shallotte on Sunday, April 24, with a 6:30 a.m. Sunrise Service. The Rev. Richard Vaughan will preach on “He Saw and He Believed” from John 20:1-8.
The 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services will be taken from Matthew 28:1-8 with a sermon titled “Ta Da!” All services will be in the sanctuary.

Church plans anniversary events
Holy Covenant United Holy Church, 237 Snowfield Road SE in Leland, will celebrate its 82nd church anniversary at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 1.
Elder Kenneth Parker, choir and congregation of Holy Trinity United Holy Church in Wilmington will be our special guests for this occasion. Call 253-5789.
Service planned on the beach
Mike Shreve of Cleveland, Tenn., will preach Easter Sunday during the Ocean Isle Beach service at the cross on the beach strand at 8:30 a.m and at the Ocean Isle Beach Chapel on Third Street beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Shreve is an author, professor and evangelist who brings forth a profound and inspiring word of God. A nursery is available at the 9:30 a.m. service at the chapel. Bible study is at 7 p.m. every Tuesday evening.
Church plans fundraiser April 22
Shallotte Church of God will have a yard sale from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Rourke Gardens on Main Street in Shallotte.
A barbecue chicken plate will also be available for purchase.

Sharon United Methodist Church, 2030 Holden Beach Road, will conduct the following services during Holy Week:
Thursday, April 21: Maundy Thursday at the church at 7 p.m.
Friday April 22: Good Friday service at the church at 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 24, Easter Sunday: 6:30 a.m. sunrise service at Honey’s Place in Varnamtown; 9:30-10:30 a.m. coffee and fellowship in the fellowship hall; 10:30 a.m. praise and worship; 11 a.m. combined worship service.

Church plans Easter activities
Sunset Beach Community Church Easter Week observances are open to the public.
Beginning Wednesday, April 20, the church will show “The Passion of Christ,” a movie about the events leading up to Christ’s crucifixion. Bring your own dinner starts at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at 6:30 p.m.
Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m. April 22 and includes communion and foot washing.
Easter Sunrise Service on Sunset Beach begins at 6:33 a.m. Sunday, April 24. Turn left at the gazebo to 8th Street. The service will feature a message of hope by the Rev. Richard Farrand. The Glory Rods will perform “Arise My Love.” The Master of Miracles, an Easter cantata, will be performed at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday school classes on Easter. Nursery care will be available during the Easter presentation.
