Celebrate the new year
Be a part of the New Year’s celebration at Sunset Beach Community Church, 1643 Seaside Road in Ocean Isle Beach (just behind Hardee’s) beginning at 7 p.m. Dec. 31.
Join with other believers as we reflect on the blessings of 2011 and seek God’s will for 2012. Casual attire is acceptable. The Rev. Richard Farrand, pastor, will be officiating this special service. Communion will be shared.

Watch Night service
There will be a watch night service at Crystal Spring Missionary Baptist Church, 4754 Blue Banks Loop Road (Northwest Community) at 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Everyone  is cordially invited to attend. The Rev. Dr. Carozell Henry will deliver the message. A continental  breakfast will also be served.

Gospel Jubilee set for Jan. 13
Unity Community Church, 1119 Holden Beach Road in Shallotte, will host a Brunswick Gospel Jubilee at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13.  The theme will be “Love.” A covered dish dinner will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. For more information or directions, call Bill Hill at 209-4927.

New Year’s celebration set
Lighthouse Pentecostal Church’s annual New Year’s celebration services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, and continue through midnight. Services will continue at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, with a full traditional New Year’s dinner, including fried chicken, ham, fried hog jowl, black-eyed peas, collard greens and more.
Services will also take place nightly at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Jan. 2-4. There will be special singing anointed preaching and prayer for the sick during each service.
