Holocaust Remembrance Day is April 18
Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Ha Shoah) will be hosted by the Chabad Academy at 2803 North Oak Street in N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, with all local synagogues participating.
The program will be “Children Remembering the Children of The Holocaust,” and will feature the Butterfly Museum, candle lighting, Psalms and prayers in Hebrew and English by local rabbis.
Holocaust survivor Hugo Schiller will speak about Toulouse and his memories of being inside the Holocaust. Eleanor Schiller, creator of the original Butterfly Project, will speak about the project. Plans for the permanent Butterfly Monument will be unveiled. Local children will sing, play musical instruments and perform the play, “Terrible Things.”

Consignment sale set for April 21
Shoreline Church, 4198 Vanessa Drive in Southport, is sponsoring a Little Blessings consignment sale beginning at 8 a.m. April 21. There will be gently used children’s spring and summer clothing (size newborn to 16), as well as toys and books. Proceeds will benefit the CentiKid Camp trip. Pork rollup dinner is April 21
The Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Rosary Council 9039 will serve a pork rollup dinner from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. Brendan the Navigator Church in Shallotte.
Included in the dinner will be green beans almandine, a crisp green salad, our home-baked bread and apple crisp. Cost $13 per plate in advance or $15 per plate at the door. Dinner is available for take-out, as well as dining in the church hall. For ticket purchase, call Paul Murnane at 575-6059.

K of C sponsors blood drive April 24
The Knights of Columbus Council 9039 at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Shallotte will sponsor a Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. April 24. Call Larry Bates at 579-5754 for an appointment to donate. Walk-ins are welcome; however, an appointment may reduce your wait time.

Spring yard and bake sale is April 20-21
Sharon United Methodist Church, 2030 Holden Beach Road, will have its annual spring yard and bake sale Friday and Saturday, April 20-21. Breakfast will be available both days from 7-10:30 a.m. Lunch (hotdogs) will be available from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Lumber River Quartet to perform at Sharon UMC
The Lumber River Quartet is coming to Brunswick County to celebrate the 18th birthday of Taylor Phelps.
The Lumber River Quartet will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Sharon United Methodist Church, 2030 Holden Beach Road, Supply.
The Lumber River Quartet is a well-known Southern Gospel music group, who travels and sings across the United States and Canada. They have appeared on TV, radio and are national recording artists. With smooth harmonies, live energetic style and some good Christian humor, the Lumber River Quartet gives the message God has given them in hopes of seeing people everywhere come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Pastor’s appreciation service is April 29
Bethel AME Church, 4924 Blue Banks Loop Road in Leland, will have a Pastor’s Appreciation Service at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29. Guest speaker will be the Rev. David L. Morrison Sr. and the congregation from Saint Luke AME Church in Fayetteville. Dinner will be served following the service. Everyone is invited.

Spring Fling has yard sale, car wash, bake sale
Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and its scholarship committee will sponsor a Spring Fling Fundraiser from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at 2000 Zion Hill Road in Bolivia.
This event will feature a yard sale with new and gently used items, a car wash, bake sale, food stand, funnel cakes, arts and crafts, live Christian entertainment and more. All proceeds from this event will benefit Zion Hill MBC and the scholarship committee. Come join in for a day full of fellowship, food and fun.
