Spring festival is set for May 5
Lighthouse Pentecostal Church will host its annual community spring festival from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Southport ILA Hall, 211 West 10th St. in Southport. There will be nearly 25 arts and crafts displays, games for children and entertainment for all ages.
Hand-chopped barbecue plates are $7 each, and will include barbecue, coleslaw, baked beans and rolls. Other food items, including hot dogs and baked goods, will also be available. Outside will be yard sale items and other vendors. For more information, call Debra Gause at 471-0862.

Gospel jubilee is planned for May 11
Everyone is welcome to attend the Brunswick Gospel Jubilee at 7 p.m. Friday, May 11, at Love of Christ Church, 4308 Business U.S. 17 in Bolivia. The theme will be “Cutting Remarks” based on Proverbs 12:17-22. For more information, call Billy Hill at 209-4927.

Spring craft show is May 5 at St. Brendan
There will be a spring craft show at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 5101 Ocean Highway West in Shallotte, to benefit its Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. The show will be from noon-6 p.m. Saturday, May 5, and from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, May 6.
More than 50 vendors will display photography and paintings, jewelry, homemade candy, greeting cards, pottery, stone candles, rugs, doll and baby clothes, ladies apparel, stained glass, hand carved items, quilts and baby blankets, plants, baked goods and more.
The Knights of Columbus will also sell food, coffee and tea, in addition to their homemade Italian breads. Come out and help those in need. For more information, call Marie Frost at 575-7638.

Gospel sing is May 6
There will be a gospel sing at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Holden Beach Road on Sunday, May 6. Service will begin at 6 p.m. and the Willing Hearts from Aynor, S.C., will be the musical guests. Everyone is welcome.

Sermons set for May 6
“Red Prayer” will be the title of the sermons of the Rev. Jeff Roberts and associate pastor Michelle Sabin on Sunday, May 6, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 E. Nash St. in Southport. Based on scripture from Matthew 6:5-15, this is the first of a three-part sermon series on prayer.
Four worship services will be available: 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. traditional services in the sanctuary and 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services in Murrow Hall, which will have music by Promise, the Trinity worship band.
Childcare is provided at all services. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:30 a.m. and children’s church is at 11 a.m. in the Kids Zone. For further information, call 457-6633 or visit its website at SouthportTrinity.org.

Gospel trio to visit Leland May 4
The Nelons from Jacksonville, a mixed-trio gospel music group, will be the featured guests at Leland Christian Academy/First Baptist Church, 517 Village Road in Leland, at 7 p.m. May 4. The group is currently touring with Bill Gaither. The public is invited.
