New Britton Baptist Church to celebrate 200 years on Aug. 25-26
New Britton Baptist Church, 5494 Kingtown Road in Ash, will celebrate its 200th anniversary (1812-2012) on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25-26.
This two-day event, which will focus on the history and progress of the church during this period, will include singing, praying, preaching, special presentations and fellowship on Saturday. A fellowship meal will be served. In the afternoon, a display of antiques and old things of the past will include farm equipment, implements, clothes, old tools and more. Anyone having such items is welcome to display them.
The Sunday service will be a dedication service beginning at 10 a.m. All members, former members and persons that have ancestral roots in the church are invited to attend. Anyone else that would like to join the congregation for this celebration is also invited.
Mills family to sing Aug. 26-29
The Mike Mills family of Hollister will be at Ocean View Baptist Church, 7025 Beach Drive SW in Ocean Isle Beach, from Aug. 26-29 for revival services. The public is welcome to come and hear this talented and dedicated family bring the message of God’s love and grace.
Services are at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Randy Ward to sing in Ash Aug. 26
Full Life Fellowship, 2470 Big Neck Road in Ash, will welcome Randy Ward in concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26. Known by many as “Gospel on Wheels,” Ward will be presenting a mixture of Southern country and beach gospel. The public is invited to attend.

Free soup kitchen is Aug. 24 in Bolivia
Strong in Grace Ministries at New Ebenezer Faith Ministries, 1705 Southport-Supply Road (N.C. 211) in Bolivia, is sponsoring a free soup kitchen, “Dine on Us,” for anyone in need from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24.
Sermons set for coming weeks at Trinity
“Presence” will be the title of the Rev. Jeff Roberts’ sermon at the 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services in the sanctuary and associate pastor Michelle Sabin’s sermon at 11 a.m. in Murrow Hall on Sunday, Aug. 26, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 E. Nash St. in Southport.
This sermon is the first of a three-part sermon series on “Presence/Why Do We Worship?”
There will be four regular worship services: 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. traditional services in the sanctuary, 9:30 a.m. contemporary service and 11 a.m. blended service in Murrow Hall, led by Praise, the worship band. Childcare is available at all services. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. and children’s church is at 11 a.m. in the Kids Zone.
