Residents of Ocean Isle Beach’s East end are taking erosion issues into their own hands.
Chris McKenzie addressed the board of commissioners Tuesday and informed them of the newly formed East End Association, residents who have had meetings, hired attorneys, and are ready to combat erosion on the east end to protect their homes.
McKenzie said the group’s goal is to have a continuous sandbag line from the end of Shallotte Boulevard to the end of Third Street. To do this, McKenzie said the association needs the town’s help.
