Brunswick County school leaders have approved a five-year capital improvement plan that addresses decaying buildings and student overcrowding.
The school board approved the proposal at its Feb. 25 board retreat.
The plan becomes the system’s blueprint for capital projects and ultimately guides the Board of Education’s actions to secure funds necessary to accomplish the system’s goals.
The plan calls for renovations and construction of a new gymnasium at Waccamaw School, which serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
