The Brunswick County Board of Education voted Tuesday night to award the construction bid for Holden Beach Middle School to R.L. Casey Inc.
Steve Miley, executive director of operations, said the bid came in at $14,593,025, which was more than a million dollars less than the highest bid.
“We do feel the pricing is accurate,” Miley said.
Board member Ray Gilbert said he thought the bids needed to be sent to the operations committee for further review. He wanted the committee to review the bid and consider future change orders.
