This is my first attempt to enter a discussion of substance about our education system and problems. The premis is that as Americans we spend more dollars per capita than any other country in the world on our public education system. What is wrong and how do we fix it? Would the Beacon be interested in publishing the school budget for an item by item review by the readers. This is the only way we, as citizens, paying the bill, would be able to make serious comments about any corrections needed. As an observer, I see inefficiencies but I have no idea how much is being spent on each item. The bussing system comes to mind as an example.
