School system finding funds for elementary SROs this year and next

School board members have finalized funding School Resource Officers (SROs) in Brunswick County Elementary Schools through the end of the year.

Just in time to begin budget planning to keep them there next year.

The board of education has approved the use of $245,838 from the fund balance to pay for deputies for the rest of the school year.

On Feb. 5 the board voted unanimously to update the county’s agreement with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
