The Beachcombers played a Stableford tournament Friday at Eagle Nest. The winners at +12 were Bob Smith, Bob Brownley, Sid Silvers and Reggie Auten. Taking second were Ed Redman, Reese Evans, Hal Riebesehl and Jim Ritter at +11.5. Gross: Reese Evans 83, Hal Riebesehl 87, Stu Cleveland and Sid Silvers 89. On Feb. 6 at the Legends Moorland Course, members had the annual hole-in-one group outing. Locatelli scores eagle
On Feb. 7, Ken Locatelli eagled the par-5, 415-yard ninth hole at Farmstead by using a driver and a 4-iron to reach the green and then sinking the putt.
Playing on Friday at the Bay Sand course, the highlight was a hole-in-one on the Bay 5 by Stan Opalka, who also won first with a net 63. Second at 64 were Jim Creighton and Gordy Coulson. Chris Christie was fourth with net 65. Sam Milora and Don Moore shot net 67s. Seventh with at 68 was Phil Whitaker. Closest to pin was Stan Opalka on Bay 5 with his ace and Don Moore on Sand 2.
Opalka was playing with John Radziewski, Al Hooker and Sam Milora. Opalka used his 9-iron for the hole-in-one on the 147-yard Bay 5 hole.

Clatts scores ace
On Feb. 4, Russ Clatts of Rehoboth Beach, Del., scored a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Glen Dornoch, Little River, S.C. He used a 5-iron on the 115-yard hole. He and his wife, Pat, are vacationing for two months at the Colony, Sunset Beach. This is his fourth ace.
