The Beachcombers played their annual three-day Vinny Shea Tournament at Santee S.C. The winners were Bill McDavit and Dennis Keane with a 415 (-17). Finishing in order were Charlie Shore and Fred Ortiz, 418; Dan O’Connell and Larry Cecil, 428; Bob Byrne and Bob Cecil, 437; Dan Winset and Fred Welch, 441; Gary Gutheil and Bill Cameron, 444; Jim Beairsto and Dick Cecil, 449; and Dennis McCann and Reggie Auten, 459.
