The Beachcombers played a two-nets tournament Friday at Eastport. The winners with a score of 125 (-15) were Bob Brownley, Paul Michal and Roger Dunham. Finishing in second with a 126 (-14) were Jim Beairsto, Bob Smith and Dan O’Connell. Low rounds: Paul Michal, 83, and Dan O’Connell, 88. On Jan. 14 at Eagle Nest, Pete Scott, John Ducey, Jim Kennedy and a player by draw placed first at 142. Format was cha-cha-cha. Second were Ron Doeblin, Sid Pennington, Bob Levan and Joe Gallo.
On Jan. 16 at Heather Glen, Pete Scott, Tony Longquell, Joe Gallo and a player by draw placed first at 161. The teams scored a gross and a net per hole with each member assigned four holes for scoring. Second were Bob Levan, Steve Maiorca, Karl Pettersen and John Ducey.
On Friday at Glen Dornoch, Bob Levan, Bob Jaeger, Rich West and Sid Pennington placed first at 161. Format was cha-cha-cha. The team of Jim Kennedy, John Ducey, John Larnick and Geoff Grilng was second.
