Sunset Beach is the scene this summer of a free community concert series.
Concerts are 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Village Park at Seaside Village.
The park is on the mainland across the street from Fibber McGees Restaurant. Just look for the small gazebo, and bring a chair. There’s typically a dance floor for concert-goers who want to get up and join in.
Each week, a different local charity will be featured. Food and drinks are available for a donation, with funds going to the featured charity of the night.
On July 4, the featured band will be Sea-Cruz.
Sea-Cruz Band has received numerous nominations and awards from the Carolina Beach Music Academy.
This dynamic group features the advantages of modern technology, years of stage experience and lots of personality.
Sea-Cruz is a sequenced group, consisting of heavy keyboards, saxophone and three lead vocalists, Dino Fair, Butch Barnes and Allie Privette.
This combination gives a big band sound and promises to deliver a complete and fun entertainment experience.
Sea-Cruz’s musical menu includes the best of ’60s oldies, classic rock, ’70s disco, Carolina Beach and today’s hottest new songs. All of this flavored with pop, country, rhythm and blues and standards takes the audience on a spectacular voyage.
